Barge East is an award-winning floating restaurant on the River Lee in Hackney Wick.

The restaurant has been lovingly restored and converted from a historic 120-year-old Dutch barge for a truly iconic dining experience.

They recently scooped a double AA Rosette for ‘Culinary Excellence’ in 2023 & 2024, following winning the Taste of London 2022 and being rated London’s #1 Restaurant on TripAdvisor in 2019 and 2020.

Their award-winning cuisine is inspired by seasonality, with produce sourced from their own gardens and specially selected sustainable suppliers.

Begin your meal with starters including Cornish crab sando, British asparagus, burnt leeks, cured Loch Duart salmon, and aged beef tartare with smoked marrow croquette.

On the mains, you'll find dishes including shorthorn beef picanha, wild Devon rabbit loin, and glazed aubergine alongside a changing weekly "Sustainable Specials" board.

If you save room for dessert, there are sweet treats including rice pudding crémeux, dark chocolate ganache and an apple tarte fine.
